A historian, environmentalist and writer, Nanditha Krishna is Director of C P Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation and Founder-Director of its multiple constituents. She is also editor of ECONEWS, Indian Journal of Environmental Education, www.heritageonline.in and publisher of Journal of Indian History and Culture. Recipient of several prestigious national and international awards, in 1981, she started nature education programmes for teachers and students at the Foundation. She has also held the post of Chairperson for WWF India, Tamil Nadu and been a member of the Senate of the University of Madras, Central Zoo Authority, National Wildlife Board, National Environmental Council, Govt of India, Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education and the Committee for Environmental Orientation to School Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. She has authored several books of decisive importance related to environment, history, and art and crafts, besides research papers and popular articles in newspapers and magazines.
