Green Hub Festival 2016 Celebrating Northeast

Date: May 13-15, 2016
Venue: Green Hub, Jonak, Kumargaon, Tezpur, Assam

CEC is happy to be organising the Green Hub Festival 2016, along with Dusty Foot Productions and North East Network. A first of its kind, the Green Hub Festival aims to raise awareness, celebrate, debate and examine the rich wildlife, environment, and biodiversity in the north east region of India. As the first batch of the Green Hub (TGH) Fellows complete their fellowship and continue their work outside TGH, the new batch of TGH Fellows will begin their years’ training. Planned during the transition period of the outgoing and new batch of The Green Hub (TGH) Fellows, the Festival aims to share the collective learning and invite discussion and dialogue between the fellows, experts, practitioners, and the local communities.

Centre for Environment Communication (CEC - www.cecin.org) Founder-President Alka Tomar says: "The festival presents an unparalleled opportunity to know, watch, discuss and debate the natural riches of the stunning Northeast, like never before."

The festival has been designed in a manner that will make it simple and appealing to understand the complex interactions in the natural environment and understand the many issues related to the conservation of the natural world. Evocative films will be screened to raise awareness; filmmakers will take the audience on a shot-by-shot tour of their films in an Anthology of Shots; experts will focus on pertinent issues in vibrant talks and discussions; In Conversation will present one-on-one discussion with filmmakers; Magical Music will unravel scintillating performances by TGH fellows, while a delightful cuisine will be the most sumptuous and fitting way to close an eventful day.
